Black and White, It's all right

"I promise I'll only take one picture."
 "Nathan! Smile damnit!"
"Can I take a picture of your baby? I'm a blogger."
"Sure just make sure you put it on the internet so I can find it!"
 "You kids grew up quick."
"Allissa! I got you in the reflection of the sunglasses!"
"This camera is being difficult."
"It's nice to take a break from selling."

Les Monts Verts

"What's the name of your blog?"
"XXIVhours.blogpsot.com, it's just the roman numerals for 24 and then hours dot blogspot dot com."
"What's the name of your blog again?"

I love this picture.

He ate the stick just after I took this picture.

I used to think time was of the essence

This was how I spent one of my days, I took pictures, I was chased, I was yelled at in spanish, I took more photos, I smiled, I learned, and I missed where I was born. Maine is a sensible, sensible place. Mexico is not.

This is my family in a nutshell

A World to See

Today is my friends birthday! Celebratory portrait!

Downtown Bangor is quite beautiful, but also quite cold in February.
Comme la vie est lente, et comme l'esperance est violente.

I made a promise to myself that this year. This year. This year will be the year I don't go all to hell. This year is the year I am going to climb mountains, and stand at the top in the sunlight. I'm not a strong person, but I refuse to hurt, or lose another piece of my soul to people that just steal it without reservation. The least they could do is call ahead eh?

The Good Times Are Killing Me (Part II)

People move so fast, and care so little, I just wonder if they ever get where they so desperately wanted to be.
 Everything has its ghosts.
It seems that the only thing that can be counted upon in life are park benches. They'll always hold you up when you need to sit and listen to the people scamper around.
This is Lonnie, and I am fairly certain he didn't know when I took this. Only my second portrait.
Thank you, you know who you are. We talked about long shutter shots, and it inspired me. I've been wanting to get back into photography for months. Thank you.
Downtown Bangor buying antique postcards to send to friends.
My friends cat, Modigliani, but we just call him Moglie

I'm in between travels right now, Mexico is about 80 days out, and I'll be in Canada soon enough. Stay tuned!

The Good Times Are Killing Me

Everything, rocks, trees, humans, we all cast shadows. Is it to remind us of where we have been, what we have seen, or is it to say that life is always changing. I will not say adapting, that would imply things are always getting better, but they are always changing.
Winter is the quietest time of the year. No bird songs, no children playing, there are just little puffs of smoke coming from all the chimneys.

The sun rises every morning. The sun sets every evening. Why do we watch it every day? We know we had a day that was different than all the rest. That something went right, or far awry. We cannot remember the individual moments. They all seem the same, but the day as a whole was completely different. In fact you have never had a day like this before.
