A World to See

Today is my friends birthday! Celebratory portrait!

Downtown Bangor is quite beautiful, but also quite cold in February.
Comme la vie est lente, et comme l'esperance est violente.

I made a promise to myself that this year. This year. This year will be the year I don't go all to hell. This year is the year I am going to climb mountains, and stand at the top in the sunlight. I'm not a strong person, but I refuse to hurt, or lose another piece of my soul to people that just steal it without reservation. The least they could do is call ahead eh?

The Good Times Are Killing Me (Part II)

People move so fast, and care so little, I just wonder if they ever get where they so desperately wanted to be.
 Everything has its ghosts.
It seems that the only thing that can be counted upon in life are park benches. They'll always hold you up when you need to sit and listen to the people scamper around.
This is Lonnie, and I am fairly certain he didn't know when I took this. Only my second portrait.
Thank you, you know who you are. We talked about long shutter shots, and it inspired me. I've been wanting to get back into photography for months. Thank you.
Downtown Bangor buying antique postcards to send to friends.
My friends cat, Modigliani, but we just call him Moglie

I'm in between travels right now, Mexico is about 80 days out, and I'll be in Canada soon enough. Stay tuned!

The Good Times Are Killing Me

Everything, rocks, trees, humans, we all cast shadows. Is it to remind us of where we have been, what we have seen, or is it to say that life is always changing. I will not say adapting, that would imply things are always getting better, but they are always changing.
Winter is the quietest time of the year. No bird songs, no children playing, there are just little puffs of smoke coming from all the chimneys.

The sun rises every morning. The sun sets every evening. Why do we watch it every day? We know we had a day that was different than all the rest. That something went right, or far awry. We cannot remember the individual moments. They all seem the same, but the day as a whole was completely different. In fact you have never had a day like this before.

Waiting in Vain

I love Maines winter, but I can feel a tinge of spring in the sunshine.
Think of how big this world is. 7 billion people big. Millions of species big. This big world is just a speck of dust in the universe, let's enjoy it.
Mexico, Boston, New York, and Canada as much as possible in between all of those it's going to be a well travelled year.
