Winter Weary

The sun froze the land as it set that night casting cold shadow upon cold shadow. Out of the fields rose a last lazy breath of warm air.
As that warm air awakened and rose up ever higher. The sun burned a deeper orange no longer casting shadows, but merely saying goodnight.

I'll be in Montréal in January  2014

You've Got That Thing

L'esprit des étrangers
The spirit of the strangers: the ability to tell an unfamiliar person life lessons and travesties past in an attempt to clutch at their heart strings and get closer as people.

Boston is a magical city. The old lives within the identity of the new. The people have got that funk, that grasp on life most other parts of the country can't understand. It loves itself like no other. Boston is among my most favorite cities on this planet.

Suddenly Small

I took this one in the largest library in the state of Maine. It seems that no one re-shelved the journals. I am between travelling right now; I will be in Boston this Saturday!
It does not seem to take much these days to feel small, or slow.
It was in those last dying rays of sunshine on top of the cold mountaintop that he felt overwhelmed. They discovered that they would be best off by remaining at a little distance from one another. In the same way the need of society drives peoples together, only to be mutually repelled by the many prickly and disagreeable qualities of their nature. With all this said he had also considered that this life is finite; that he was simply conscious of the finer aspects of life if he lived it for himself and for others.

All Bright Things Burn

 The Na-Tamoranian Dragon
A big thanks to my friends Nate and Tamara! They didn't really know what they were getting into, but fire is always a convincing argument.
 L'homme du soleil
"I tried" he said to himself.
"I tried to find that true love vendors sell out of their carts. They're tryin' to make me buy what I don't want. When I was a schoolboy my father always told me 'it's a buyers market son'. Today it's a sellers market. I just want a woman." He paused to collect his thoughts. His slender hands reached into his pocket for a cigarette and he placed it between his smug lips. "I want a woman that drives me a little up the fucking wall...yeah; it's a damn shame how it is these days." He bent forward slightly to light his cigarette and take a drag of the sickly sweet smoke. "It's a damn shame."

It's All In The Game

Hope is the thought that the light at the end of the tunnel is neither a train nor sunlight, but a bright future instead.

Keep Me Searching For a Heart of Gold

Absinthe martinis with my friends Josh, Nick, and Nicole all at the Avant-Garde Bar in Ottawa
There is a blurred line between light and dark. The grey between black and white is what scares me most.

Popeye

"With your feet in the air and your head on the ground. Try this trick and spin it yeah yeah!"
The start of the climb up Dorr Mountain on Mount Desert Isle

"I CAN'T HEAR ANYTHING."
 Downtown Bar Harbor at night
I especially love the old car parked on the corner.

I stood in the fucking fountain for this shot
Name this spot in Bar Harbor!

I sat underneath this tree for awhile and wrote a few poems.

The Silence of the Roar

"He threw his hands towards the heavens and screamed 'No more! You've taken all that I've loved, but you will never take away my desire to live.'"
I had a lovely conversation with a drug dealer in Boston Commons at 3 a.m. Right after I took these photos in the commons a man walked up to me and asked if I needed any blow tonight...sorry I just quit uh...asthma; then I ran. This whole cocaine thing is getting outrageous in every city I travel to.
This picture was taken about two blocks away from the marathon bombing sites.

 Moses

There were two drunk women swimming in the fountain here at Copley Place. Probably the most polite city I've ever been to actually.
